New hook-up in an Old Place
This is monumental! No one has ever been online at our cottage before. Dad took 2 analog phones apart and wired them together to dial out.

Infinity Scarves
I had a new project for myself today. After running the many errands I had, I stopped over by fabricland to find some material for my new project. I was searching the web for 'tube' scarves and infinity scarves, and thought they would be a great thing to make. I bought some finely knitted fabric and made this one:
I absolutely love it.

Weekend Update
Le bf bought a car last week and came down to see me this weekend! It was nice. We did a lot of walking around downtown, went to the drive-in which I haven't done for years and had lots of Pho. If you don't know what Pho is, you really should! I get cravings for it but don't go unless I'm with le bf. It is one of those couply things we do.
The headbands I was making haven't sold as well as I had thought over Etsy, but my belts are! I think they are very unique being from actual cars, but the supply is gone. Cars aren't made with chrome buckles anymore. They are now plastic, so my stock of buckles are an extinct breed and I'm almost all gone. I recently sold this Cadillac belt.
more outfit updates coming soon!

Thrifted Finds
As I said yesterday, I found two awesome bags/purses/brief case from the Bible Mission near my house. I love this black one because it hasn't been used and it looks very professional. It would be nice to take papers to and from my imaginary job at this point. However, I'm buying things for the job I want. Isn't that the saying? "Dress for the career you want not the one you have". If I was dressing for the career I have I would look like a hobo.
This second shoulder bag I thoughts was great. I only have big heavy purses, and I like to go to flea markets and antique stores. If you do as well, you know that big bags and stores like that don't mix. It fits with the trend of the saddle bag and I really love the hardware on the front. But the best part is it was $2.50 :)
And this is me at 1:30am snapping a few pictures after remembering that I wanted to blog about my thrifted finds the next day.

Funksy-free
Hello all! I think things are looking up. I know I have not done any outfit posts lately, but I will start again soon! I was just thristing and found two great items! One is a faux croc brief case and the other is a small brown leather shoulder strapped saddle bag. I just got them a minute ago so I will take pictures when I get home and have them posted tomorrow.
There may be no room in this blog for political views, but does anyone agree with what happened to the celebration of Wolfe's 250th birthday on Wolfe Island? Can you believe that it was cancelled because it was deemed anti-French? Are they serious? I really think that this French vs. English charade has gone too far. This was a historic event and something that actually happened. By celebrating Wolfe's birthday we are celebrating the man, we are not celebrating just because the French were defeated in that battle. This celebration had been planned for 3 years and because of the whining that got it cancelled, it makes me want to celebrate the English victory over the French...I don't think it is fair that the government allows for things like this to happen. I feel like I am personally being stepped on all the time by French government interest. I do not think the government would jump to my aid if I said that my rights as an English speaking Canadian have been infringed by government policy.
This has spurred me on to fight for English rights and stand up for the French policy that is being crammed down our throats. I hold nothing against French people or their culture because I have several French friends, but I do have problems with the government pushing their French agenda...I am mad because I have been dealing with this for 5 years living in Ottawa.
...thoughts? Have you been impacted by French or English government policy?
After that tyrade, here is a nice picture :)

Change Happens
I'm in the mood for a change. I am sick of my hair and how it is always falling in my face and looks so...blah now to me. Before this style I had never really had a hair style per say, just a lot of long hair without layers...I used to trim it myself! Word to the wise, don't do that. The change I'm looking for is to have a lover maintanance cut. I'm really liking Audrey Tautou's style now. She is the woman from the Da Vinci Code. I think she and I have a similar face shape. Short forehead and oval face.
Or Shannon Sossamon
Although I don't want anything that will make me look like a boy. I had enough of that growing up!

Blown Away
Last week I took a trip over Wolfe Island. I was in Clayton (US) and came across on the Ferry to the island and then across another ferry to Kingston. Here are some of the photos from the day. You wouldn't believe how massive they are! I tried to give a little bit of perspective.
Here I am at the base of one of then. Shhh...no tresspassing allowed.
and here is that same one from the street. You can hardly see the doorway in the bottom!
And finally, you know how big silos are...well here are the wind turbines around a farm.

Holt
As promised, here are some pictures from my Holt Renfrew experience last week. I have had a difficult couple of days and am in for a few more but I wish I had posted these earlier. One thing I will say about Holt is that I can't believe how poor and dingy the fitting rooms were! The display floor of Holt is amazing and clean, but the fitting rooms were horrid. This is a Diana Von Furstenberg dress I liked:
Here is a shawl/cape that I thought was amazing! I love the design of it. The tie weaves through the garment to tie on the outfide at the front. As you can see there aren't sleeves, just a cape but it is so comfy!
Here is a Valentino bag that I had a moment with. It was so soft. I didn't look at the proce tag so tht I wouldn't ruin how I felt about it. It was beautiful:
After this I was trying to take a picture of this Christian Louboutin bag, but was told by the cute sales clerk that I wasn't allowed to take pictures for security reasons, which is understandable. He and I had a moment...I think it was because, being in Holt Renfrew, he thought I had money and wanted e to take him home. lol.

I Think, Therefore..
I was in Toronto this past week because I had a meeting downtown. While there, I did some poking around. I was on Bloor and Young for my meeting, so I had to stop in at Holt Renfrew. I have never been in one before and was just floored by the clothing, shoes, bags and accessories! If you ever just want to be treated like someone of importance, definitely go to Holt once, they are crazy. After waltzing through the perfume department and ascending the escalator to the second floor, a beautiful array of clothing was revealed to me. I wandered over to the first display, swinging through the rack, and to my surprise and delight, it was Alexander McQueen! I was a little ecstatic to say the least. Although he doesn't design/make anything I have personally found to wear he is still one of my favourite designers.
I poked around some more, found a fabulous selection of shoes, anyone from Chloe to Prada to Louis Vuitton were all there. I climbed the stairs to the third floor and may I just say, Diana Von Furstenberg has some amazing pieces. I couldn't resist trying on some things which I took pictures of and will post soon. On my way out I walked through the bag section and fell in love with a Valentino bag and also a Christian Louboutin bag. I didn't know that CL made bags. Anyway, pictures coming soon! Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Rachel Bilson is one of my all time style favourites. I love the scarves she wears, the boots and the way she throws everything together to look great but effortless!
