I was taken cross-country skiing for the first time yesterday! It was actually pretty easy and fun once you get the rhythm of pushing and gliding down. Being a down hill skier myself, I thought cross-country skiing would come naturally to me, but I didn't take to it like a fish in water. At first I didn't like that your heels moved, or that you couldn't use your bindings to steer. It took me 1 hour to go 1.63 km up and down the hills, but by the end I was doing pretty well! I will be back tomorrow for the 3km trail...maybe I should pack a lunch.
Anywho, while not shimmying along the ski trails, I busied myself trying to make a tie-belt. I love tie belts because there are no holes! It doesn't matter how big you are, you can always make them fit. I also love them because they can potentially go with anything from outter-wear to fancy to casual. Here was my end result:

I've never been skiing at all. I suppose I need to try it out!
