Ok, you are going to think I am completely nuts for suggesting this shopping tip unless everyone reading this are closet seniors section shoppers. Anyway I was out shopping yesterday because I am in desperate need of jeans, and had to make a stop at The Bay because I needed to see if they sold a certain brand of clothing that my grandmother wears. (she is in need of pants as well). After looking through the section I could not believe all of the cute cardigans, skirts and blouses there were. I'm not talking about all of the elastic waist banded pants, but other items. Of course it is a bit of trial and error. Seniors are not the same shape as younger people are, so certain pieces of clothing might not fit properly, but it is the exact same thing as vintage and thrift shopping. You often try on a lot of things before finding that one perfect piece. I found that going down one size from your regular size was the best fitting strategy. The skirt posted above came from the senior's petites section and it fits like it was tailored for me. Plus the sale racks are full full full of clothes. And you will know that other people our age won't be wearing the same thing!
Wow, I never would have thought the senior section would have decent clothes. Haha. But that outfit looks fabulous! Especially with the top tucked into the skirt!

Haha that's such a good idea! I've actually snuck into the kids section before and bought a shirt or two in the largest size they had, but I never thought of checking out the senior section!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand. You will never guess where you find stuff. I find the best things at the "old lady thrift shop" and I never want to tell anyone where it is for fear my secret will be out!!
ReplyDeleteNice post great. I also think these clothes are also matching up with latest trends..
