A Nomad

So in the past 4 days I have finished school, moved out of my apartment in Ottawa, moved to Kingston, half moved to Mississauga, had an interview in Oakville and am now moving to Toronto. I don't feel lonely because I know the people I am staying with (le bf&brother) but I don't really have a home at the moment. You would think that that would be really sad, but I don't really mind. While I was at school I moved 6 times in 5 years, so I haven't really had a permanent home for that long either. The weather is really crappy and cold so I haven't taken any pictrures. Will upload some soon!
Right now I am just focusing on getting interviews and a job before getting my own place and setting down roots. I'm looking at magazine jobs and marketing advertising places. Because I do not have all the preferred experience for jobs I really want, I am willing to take internships for a few months just to get the experience. I think that this is important advice for people still in school. If you know what kind of job you want, go out and get the experience. Even if you don't get paid, you are earning content to put on your resume. You may even discover that you don't want to do that kind of job anymore. It is better to find out early than go through schooling for what you think you want and then realize that you don't like it once you get there.

The Big Move

Ah, tomorrow is my last day in Ottawa. I have my final exam of University from 9:30-12:30 and then my parents will be here to help move me out. I don't think I will miss my school or Ottawa. I am moving on to bigger and better things hopefully! The only thing I will miss are the friends that I am not going to get to see whenever I want. And my roommates evil cat, I think I will miss him a touch. The face of the evil:

it looks cute now, but he is all teeth when he is awake. Yes, there will not be any posts until at least Sunday because I will be at my parents place and they are on dial-up, 42KB/sec. I will be in TO on Sunday and can hopefully post something from le bf's computer. Until then, have a great weekend!

Winding Down

Boy it has been a long few days. I didn't post over the weekend because I was literally wearing a Uottawa t-shirt and my jogging pants every day. Sick I know, but we all do it. If you're not going to see anyone for 3 days why not?

So today was my break free from the sweats day and also laundry day as you can see behind me. I was running very low on clothes, I threw a pile of clean clothes on my bed and said "what can I do with this". This was the 'clean' going to see a matinee with my friends outfit. I know the green tank is wrinkled, but it isn't once you close the blazer! And by the way, 17 Again was so cute! I have never seen Zack act before, and he blew my expectations away!

Lazy Study Dayz

Today is not really lazy, but more of a frantic trying to keep my nervse under control day. It is really hard knowing that if you took your exam at this second, you would fail. I only have today and tomorrow to get a whole semesters worth of information in my head before the final on Sunday. On a Sunday I know! So there won't be any posts this weekend sorry!

Short and Sweet

I love summer! Well, I'm jumping the gun a bit, it is really only Spring, but I love all the flirty clothes that come along with it. I am really sensitive to temperature, so in the winter I am bundled from head to toe and the crabbiest person ever if I have to go out anywhere. But come Spring I am different, I am free. I love dressing up, grabbing a tea and just strolling around. This spring/summer I'm thinking lots of skirt (making them) and dresses. Last summer I was mainly a capri's and shorts girl and I want my style to be a bit more flirty.

Playing Dress-Up

I get bored while studying, as I'm sure everyone does, and I get into fits where I need to do something..anything else that isn't work. I also know that it has been a while since I have done an outfit post, so here is outfit for the day. This summer will consist of better blogs and photos. I will be with le bf who is 5 hours away at the moment, and will not be taking the photos myself.

I wish you could see a better picture of my shoes, they are amazing booties! I've had them for probably 2 years and love them to pieces.

Everything is so Final

Well, I am done classes and now done my grad photos. I feel like everything is coming to a close, but I don't think it will really hit me until September and I don't have to go to school. Although, I think I would rather do school than work. I only have a class or two a day usually and can do whatever I want the rest of the day. You don't even have to go to class if you don't want. When I start working it will be 9-5 7 days a week with about 2 weeks of vaca a year. That doesn't sound like fun to me. I'm going to have to either love my job very very much, or become an entrepreneur. We shall see. It looks like I will be jetting off to Las Vegas and Cali in May for a bit before I do more job hunting. It really is unfortunate that I am graduating in a recession. I wish I could have found a job sooner.
Anyway, more posts to come when I'm not so busy!

Beam Me Up Scotty

Ok, what is with the huge shoulder situation on the runways this season? As far as I could tell most people make fun of the 80's shoulder pads and now they have gotten even bigger! I have broad shoulders but it is something I try to de-emphasize to make my body more balanced and proportionate, why would I want to add bulk there? The only motive I can see for the shoulder situation is to try and create the illusion of hugely broad shoulders to make other body parts, like the legs, look smaller.

This may be the intent, but when you look back at the pictures you will still look like an extra from Star Trek or like you are going to an 80's prom. Not a good look unless you are a very petite person. MK carried it off well.
